About This Event

Half Moon Bay's annual giant-pumpkin weigh-off, where growers bring Volkswagen-sized pumpkins to compete for $9 a pound and a $30,000 world-record bonus. Spectators welcome.

Weighing begins around 7am and is expected to wrap around 11am, followed by the awards presentation. First place receives $9 per pound, plus a $30,000 prize for a world-record pumpkin.
