About This Event

Annual Day of the Dead celebration in Courthouse Square with altar contests, live performances, sugar skull workshops, face painting, art installations and a procession. The 2026 edition draws on the traditions of Tlaxcala.

Hosted by Casa Círculo Cultural with the San Mateo County History Museum and Redwood City Parks & Arts Foundation. Includes an Altar Festival Contest, a Trunk Altar Contest (12 spaces, advance registration), live performances, Catrina face painting, sugar skull workshop, chalk art, art installations and a procession.
